The opposition Awami League (AL) began an indefinite nationwide transportation shutdown on 20 November to demand the removal of election chief M.A. Aziz from office.
All road and rail lines into Dhaka are blocked off, and the local police commissioner stated that the city has been cut off from the rest of the country. There have been no reports indicating if there are operational delays at Dhaka Zia International Airport (VGZR/DAC).
