The Asociación de Bancos Privados del Ecuador (ABPE) announced that, with the authorization of the Superintendencia de Bancos y Seguros (Ecuador's equivalent to the SEC) banks in Ecuador will work behind closed doors on December 29, to close the 2006 accounts.
Banks will therefore be closed from December 29, 2006, until Janauary 1, 2007, inclusively.
