French Guiana Public Holidays News Update

(Posted on Friday, November 3, 2006)

Source: DOM Actu

The dates for the first round of the French legislative elections, announced on October 25, would coincide with the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in 1848, a public holiday in French Guiana.

A new law should soon be presented in the French Senate, to modify the date of the 1st round of the legislative elections, at least as far as French Guiana is concerned.
