The government of Guyana has announced that the upcoming Youman Nabi, birth anniversary of the Prophet, public holiday, would be commemorated on Tuesday, April 11, 2006.
As usual (12-Apr-2005), the aforementioned announcement comes shortly after the announcement by Guyana's Central Islamic Organisation (CIOG) that the month of Rabiul-Awal started on March 31st, as the new moon had been sighted Thursday evening.
As is often the case (12-Apr-2005) the date announced in Guyana for the birth anniversary of the Prophet public holiday, is one day later than in the Middle East.
