New Delhi: In a last minute change, he Delhi government has declared a holiday today on account of Eid-ul-Fitr. All offices, schools and colleges, and banks will remain closed.
The announcement for celebrating Eid today in the capital was taken after a late night meeting of the Jama Masjid's Markazi Royat Hilal (Moon Sighting) Committee. The decision was taken after religious leaders heard the testimony of witnesses from Haryana who said that they had sighted the Eid moon.
