The government of Kazakhstan has confirmed that the 2006 Constitution Day public holiday would be celebrated on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, with no additional bridge public holidays linking it to the previous or next weekends.
There had been some confusion on the issue, as the moving of non-working days from the weekend to the Monday or Friday adjoining a fixed-date public holiday has become a regular, but relatively new, fixture of the Kazakhstan public holidays calendar (27-Sep-2005 and 02-Jan-2006).
