Macau's Chief Executive has declared a one-off public holiday, "The fourth day of the Lunar New Year", on Wednesday, February 1st, 2006.

This announcement, which amends the official list of 2006 Macau public holidays, published last summer (23-Aug-2005), follows a trend started for the 2005 public holidays list (21-May-2004), and was made under the purview of the "Decree Law No. 60/2000 on Public Holidays", and will allow for a 4th day extension to the annual, 3-day, Lunar New Year public holiday.
