Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar, has officially asked private sector employers to also give an additional public holiday on Monday, October 23 or Thursday, October 26, 2006, for their employees.
Early this month (05-Oct-2006), the federal government declared Monday, October 23, 2006, a public sector holiday while the state of Terengganu set Thursday, October 26, 2006, as its special holiday (recall that the weekly day off in Terengganu is Friday).
