The government declared a public holiday tomorrow, Wednesday, November 22, 2006, to mark the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA), which ended the more than a decade old insurgency in the country.
According to Home Ministry, all government offices, schools and public institutions will remain closed. Nepali diplomatic missions abroad will also remain closed today. The government has decided to conduct Deepawali in government offices this evening.
