Niger has gazetted the "Proposition de loi modifiant la loi instituant les fêtes légales" as the loi N° 2006-08 du 2 mai 2006, abolishing public holidays on the Monday that follows a fixed-date public holiday that falls on a Sunday.
Day in lieu public holidays had been instaured by Paragraph 2 of Section 2 of the loi n° 97-20 du 20 juin 1997 (23-Jun-1997).
