Nigeria Declares January 1-3 Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday and Wednesday January 2-3, 2007 as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) celebrations.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Amb. Olu Adeniji, who announced the holidays yesterday in Abuja, also said that January 1, 2007 would be observed as a public holiday to mark the New Year.

He said that Monday December 25 and Tuesday December 26, had also been declared as public holidays to mark this year’s Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
