Pakistan Declares Iqbal Day A Public Holiday

The Government has decided to celebrate birthday of national poet and philosopher of Allama Iqbal as Iqbal Day falling on Thursday and has declared it as a public holiday.

Special ceremonies will be held on government level on November 9, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television would broadcast and telecast special programmes on life and philosophies of Iqbal, and the national flag will be hoisted at important public buildings. A ceremonial change of guards will be held at mazar-e-Iqbal followed by laying of floral wreath and offering of fateha in the morning.
