Despite the federal government’s earlier announcement that Eid should be celebrated on January 1 (see our news story of December 25), the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan committee announced that Eid ul Azha would be celebrated in the NWFP and tribal areas on December 31.
In addition, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee decided unanimously to hold Youm-e-Takbeerat on December 30 and to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on December 31.
