Peru Declares October 17 Public Holiday

The president of the council of ministers, Jorge del Castillo decreed that today would be a non-working day, for both the private and public sectors, beginning at noon, in honor of the deceased ex-president of the 2001 transition government, Valentín Paniagua Corazao.
