Philippines Clarifies ASEAN Public Holidays Details

(Posted on Saturday, November 25, 2006)

Malacañang amended Proclamation No. 1032 related to the special non-working holidays in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu for Dec. 11 to 14, 2006, during next month’s Asean summit. Only schools and the government sector are left covered by the declaration after Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita signed Proclamation 1032-A to exclude private businesses.

The special non-working holidays from Dec. 11 to 14 will apply only to government employees at all levels in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, except those required to render emergency and security services.
