Philippines President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (PGMA), signed Proclamation No.1015, declaring Saturday, February 25, 2006, as a special non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
This was done to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution and so that "that all sectors should be given the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in our country’s history through simple yet meaningful activities".
