The official Catalonia winter rebates season (rebajas de invierno) will begin on January 8, 2007, and end on March 7, 2007. Businesses will not be allowed to open on January 7, 2007, the day before the beginning of the rebates season, however they will be permitted to open the following Sunday, January 14, 2007.

The list of 8 Sundays and public holidays when shops are allowed to open, in Catalonia, in 2007 is as follows: Jan-14, Jul-1, Aug-15, Nov-1, Dec-6, Dec-8, Dec-16, and Dec 23. It is also possible to replace one or two of these 8 dates with one or two of the regional and municipal public holidays, as long as the request for this substitution is made to the Dirección General de Comercio, before February 15, 2007.
