Sri Lanka's Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs has published in the "Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka" the official list of Sri Lankan bank holidays, public holidays, and full Moon Poya days, for the calendar year 2007.
Despite repeated calls from the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce to reduce the number of public holidays, in particular to cut the number of Poya holidays (21-Jul-2002), the aforementioned list of official Sri Lankan bank holidays, public holidays, and full Moon Poya days, for the calendar year 2007 remains the same as in past years (07-Oct-2005).
