The Prophet's Birthday's observance has been moved to Sunday April 1, 2007, and a fully paid, day in lieu, for both public and private sectors, has been declared for Monday April 2, 2007.
This declaration follows from the "Loi n° 019-2000/AN du 27 juin 2000 portant institution de fêtes légales au Burkina Faso" (21-Jul-2000), as amended a year later (18-Jul-2001), which specifies that when some of Burkina Faso's official public holidays fall on a Sunday, then the next day shall be a non-working public holiday (obligatoirement chômé et payé).
