Canada Federal Services Will Not Observe New Ontario Public Holiday

(Posted on Saturday, October 20, 2007)

Canada's Prime Minister declared that the new February Ontario public holiday would not be a holiday for federal civil servants, justifying his decision by the fact that federal civil servants already have 11 holidays.

The third Monday of February was recently made into a provincial public holiday (11-Oct-2007), following the recent re-election of Ontario Prime Minister, Dalton McGuinty (04-Sep-2007).
