The National People's Congress will be asked, next month, to consider making New Year's Eve the last day in Chinese lunar calendar and one of the most important for families a public holiday.
The Lunar New Year's Eve was specifically excluded from the recent Golden Week holidays (06-Feb-2007), and would then become a legal holiday if this proposal gets passed by the National People's Congress next month.
