Although officially restricted to banks and civil servants, the upcoming Carnival public holidays (February 19 and 20, beginning on Sunday the 18th) will be observed by workers in the private sector as well.
However, according to the administrative decree No. DAJ-MT-20060520, these 2 days of holidays will have to be made up on 2 successive Saturdays, on February 24, and March 3, 2007.
