The State of Kerala has announced that Friday, October 12, 2007 would be a public holiday as Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Saturday, October the 13th, which is already a holiday in Kerala, being the second Saturday of the month. This Friday day in lieu, one-off, holiday will apply to all educational institutions and state government employees.
