Jordan's King Abdullah II has instructed the government to scrap two public holidays in a bid to boost productivity in the kingdom, state-run Petra news agency reported Thursday.
The public holidays in question are: the King's birthday on January 30 and the late King Hussein's birthday on November 14.
Recall that the date of the public holiday associated with the anniversary of the birthday of His Majesty the late King Hussein was often changed at the last minute (08-Nov-2005 and 05-Nov-2006), as was the public holiday associated with the anniversary of the present King Abdullah's birthday (24-Jan-2006).
