Kazakhstan Declares October 26 Public Holiday

(Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007)

Source: Gazeta

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Massimov, has signed a decree exchanging of rest day from Sunday, October 28, to Friday, October 26, 2007.

This will result in a one-off bridge public holiday from Thursday October 25 (the Republic Day public holiday) to Saturday, October 27, 2007.

The moving of non-working days from the weekend to the Monday or Friday adjoining a fixed-date public holiday has become a regular feature of the Kazakhstan public holidays calendar (see, for example: 20-Aug-2007 and 02-Jan-2006).
