The President of the Maldives announced that the Eid al-Adha public holidays would be moved a day earlier, so that the general public holiday of Haj Day will therefore take place on Tuesday December 18, followed by the general public holiday of Eid al-Adha on Wednesday December 19.
Civil servants will, in addition be off until Sunday, December 23, inclusively.
