Yesterday, it was announced that Tuesday and Wednesday November 27 and 28 would be public holidays for employees working at the ministries, public authorities and other state administrative departments, and that Wednesday and Thursday November 28 and 29 would be holidays for private sector employees.
As Friday is the weekly day off, in Oman (and Thursdays also for civil servants), this means a 4-day public holiday for civil servants, and a 3-day public holiday for the private sector.
This continues the tradition of having the public holidays that correspond to the November 18 National Day, and the November 19 Sultan's Birthday, later in the year (16-Nov-2006).
