An emergency session of the legislative assembly has been called to vote the law re-establishing días puente (moving mid-week fixed-date public holidays to the following Monday).
It is hoped that the vote on this bill, whose idea was first floated last summer (25-Aug-2007 and 17-Sep-2007), would occur in time to move the effective date of the upcoming Independence Day public holiday, from Wednesday November 28, to Monday, December 3.
