A public holiday was declared today following the death of Peter Tsiamalili, the Administrator of the Autonomous Papua New Guinea Region of Bougainville.
The declaration of a one-off public holiday on the occasion of the death of prominent politicians is a regular occurrence in Papua New Guinea (11-Jan-2006).
