Heroes' Day (Día de los Héroes) will be celebrated on Thursday March 1st, this year, as the executive branch has decided, in this case, not to use to powers it has to move most public holidays to the next Monday.
Under the terms of law 1723/01 (29-Jun-2001), the President has discretionary powers to move some fixed-date public holidays to a nearby Monday. But so far, these powers have rarely been used (29-Apr-2003 and 16-Sep-2004).
