A Peruvian civil servant who will participate in the organization of the November 2008 APEC summit in Lima said that he would recommend declaring as public holidays the 2 days before the 2008 APEC summit.
In 2004, Chile declared a municipal holiday on Friday, November 19, 2004, in Chile's capital, Santiago, to coincide with that year's upcoming APEC Summit (28-Oct-2004), as was the case in Sydney last year (12-Sep-2006).
