The Vietnamese National Assembly has approved making the Lunar March 10 a new public holiday to immortalize the Hung Kings, who, as legend has it, once reigned over what is now modern-day Vietnam.
This new public holiday, submitted earlier this month by the National Assembly’s Standing Committee (08-Mar-2007), would fall on April 26, were it to take effect in 2007.
However, as the law is currently written, there is some uncertainty as to whether the new public holiday would take effect in 2008 or earlier.
