The Cabinet of Ministers announced that the weekend days of March 29-30, would be regular working days, in exchange of which, Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, 2008, will be one-off bridge public holidays.
This means that the Novruz public holiday will stretch over 9 consecutive days, from March 20 to March 28, inclusively.
Late last year, the 2008 Novruz public holidays had already been extended to run 7 days (from March 20 to March 26, 2008, inclusively), by Decree 198 of Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers (08-Dec-2007).
