Earlier today, in a move reminiscent of what happened last year, the High Court of Bangladesh issued a rule asking the government to explain, within four weeks, its cancellation of November 7 as a public holiday.
Due to the delay imparted, it would seem that November 7, dropped from the list of public holidays last year (29-Nov-2007), will not be restored as a public holiday in 2008, but it could very well be for 2009.
This could happen at the very last minute, as it did in the case of the August 15 public holiday (10-Aug-2008) although the request had been made by the High Court almost a year before (06-Aug-2007).
