During the parliamentary debate on the "Electoral (Amendment) Bill" this week, the MP for Selebi-Phikwe West, Mr Kavis Kario, supported by the MP for Lobatse, Mr Nehemiah Modubule, introduced an amendment, which among other things, would make election day a public holiday in Botswana.
Thus, the BPP proposal of last summer (20-Jul-2007), seems to be gaining momentum, in the governing party.
The next legislative and presidential elections are expected to occur in October 2009.
