Gabon's Ministre du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Prévoyance Sociale has issued a statement announcing that Wednesday, October 1, 2008, had been declared a non-working public holiday ("journée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national").
This announcement is a confirmation of the actual date of an annual public holiday enshrined in the 1998 "Decree No. 727/PR/MTEFP to regulate Public Holidays in the Republic of Gabon" (29-Jun-1998).
