The separatist leader of Georgia's Province of Abkhazia, Sergei Bagapsh, has declared today the National Day public holiday, to mark the 15th anniversary of the region's victory over Georgian forces in a separatist war.
So far, only Russia and Nicaragua have recognized the independence of Abkhazia.
