Guinea will hold a State Funeral on Friday, December 26, 2008, for its former President, Lansana Conte, who died earlier this week, after 24 years in power.
We feel that it is likely that a public holiday will be declared on that date (a 40-day mourning period was declared earlier this week). Even if it is not, the ongoing curfew and added security measures on Friday should cause total gridlock in most of Conakry.
