The Chandigarh Administration has issued the schedule of holidays which will be observed as public holidays and restricted holidays in all Government Offices under the Chandigarh Administration, during the calendar year 2009.
Of interest in the published list is the fact that this is the second state/territory of India to declare a 2009 date for Diwali based on the southern Indian calculation rule, as opposed to the northern Indian calculation rule usually used in the Chandigarh territory (the other state is Maharashtra).
