Iran 2008-2009 Public Holidays

(Posted on Tuesday, March 11, 2008)

Source: Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis)

Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly has approved the list of official public holidays in Iran for the Persian year 1388, running from March 2008, to March 2009.

The list of official public holidays is relatively unchanged since Persian year 1386 (08-Mar-2007), with a few public holidays based on the Islamic Calendar moved to the following day.

For the third year in a row (08-Mar-2007 and 13-Mar-2006), the current list still includes all five annual public holidays meant to have been cancelled in 2005 by Iran's Majles Social Committee (18-Aug-2005 and 13-Apr-2005). It can now safely be assumed that the cancellation of these 5 annual public holidays has been shelved.
