The Iraqi cabinet has announced a 6-day public holiday on the occasion of the upcoming Eidul Fitr (Lesser Bairam), to run from Wednesday, September 30, until Sunday, October 5, 2008.
According to the aforementioned statement, the upcoming End of Ramadan public holidays were extended to 6 days to encompass all the possible methods of determinig the date of the first day of the month of Shawwal, with the preferred main date being Thursday, October 2, 2008.
