Kazakhstan Announces End-Of-Year Bridge Public Holidays

(Posted on Friday, November 21, 2008)

Source: Q++ research team in Kazakhstan

The government of Kazakhstan has announced the definite official date of this year's Kurban Ait (Eid al-Adha) public holiday, and confirmed the date of the Independence Day bridge public holiday.

Specifically, this year's Kurban Ait has been moved from the previously announced date of December 9, to Monday, December 8, 2008, in a manner similar to what was done in Kyrgyzstan (19-Nov-2008).

In addition, the bridge public holiday on Monday, December 15, 2008, has been confirmed, as has been the date of Saturday, December 13, 2008, as a special working day in compensation, a common practice in Kazakhstan (see, for example: 21-Apr-2008, 28-Nov-2007, 11-Oct-2007, 20-Aug-2007 and 02-Jan-2006)..
