Kyrgyzstan Declares January 1-7 Public Holidays

Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister, Igor Chudinov, has signed an executive order declaring the period from January 1 to January 7, 2009, as non-working nationwide public holidays in Kyrgyzstan.

Although impressive sounding, the announcement actually only amounts to the declaration of 3 additional non-working public holiday, since January 1 and January 7 are already annual public holidays in Kyrgyzstan, while January 5 and 6 are weekends.
