At its meeting of last Friday, August 1, 2008, the Cabinet of the Government of Mauritius has approved the official list of public holidays in Mauritius for the upcoming calendar year 2009.
The communique did not include any new public holidays, as it did in 2001 (26-Jul-2001), but it did confirm the always elusive dates for Thaipoosam Cavadee, Maha Shivaratree, Ougadi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid-Ul-Fitr, and Divali.
