It has been announced that the next meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting of the moon will be held on Friday night, November 28, 2008, to determine the sighting of the moon of Zilhajj 1429, and hence the date of the Eid al-Adha (Eid uz Zuha) public holiday.
This meeting, a day earlier than usual, means that November 29 could be announced as the first day of the month of Zilhajj which would mean that the date of the Eid al-Adha public holiday would be on December 8, 2008, a day before our current forecast, and 2 days before the date officially announced on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of Pakistan.
The same bringing forward of the officially announced official date occurred last month when the date for the Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday, officially announced for October 2, was moved to October 1st (24-Sep-2008).
