Pakistan Extends End of Ramadan Public Holiday In NWFP

The Government of Pakistan's Province of Balochistan has announced an additional one-off regional public holiday on Saturday, October 4, 2008.

This will be the 4th consecutive day of public holidays in the Province of Balochistan, as October 1-3 is already a nationwide public holiday in Pakistan, on account of the upcoming Eid ul Fitr.

The Northwest Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan announced a similar extension of the Eid ul Fitr public holidays, last week (28-Sep-2008).

Nazim City District Government Quetta has also announced a fifth additional municipal public holiday for all the offices and educational institutions falling within the purview of City District Government for September 30th, 2008.

Earlier last week (24-Sep-2008), the dates of this year's Eid-ul- Fitr public holidays were shifted from the previously announced dates of October 2-4 to the period of Wednesday to Friday, October 1 to 3, 2008.
