Panama's President, Martín Torrijos, declared 2 one-off, year-end bridge public holidays for the public sector, on Friday, December 26, 2008, and on Friday, January 2, 2009.
As compensation, from now until December 23, the public sector workers of Panama will work one additional hour every day. However it is not clear if that means that public services will be accessible to the public one more hour or not.
