A bill has been introduced in Peru's Parliament which would make October 31, Reformation Day, a new paid public holiday (con carácter de feriado no laborable) for Evangelicals and Protestants (about 12% of the Peruvian population).
This is reminiscent of the recently created new public holiday in Chile which bears the same name as that proposed in the Peruvian bill; Día Nacional de las Iglesias Evangélicas y Protestantes (11-Oct-2008).
