Prime Minister Derek Sikua has announced that a public holiday had been declared, on Monday, December 8, 2008, to commemorate the silver jubilee of the western Province's Second Appointed Day.
The actual 25th anniversary will fall on Sunday, December 7, 2008, but the public holiday and celebrations were set to occur on the following Monday.
