Sudan Extends New Weekends To Entire Country

(Posted on Wednesday, January 9, 2008)

Source: El Watan

The government of Sudan, under the Presidency of Omar al Bachir, announced that, beginning on January 26, 2008, weekends in Sudan will be Fridays and Saturdays.

This follows the recent, similar, announcement by Khartoum State (05-Jan-2008).

Note that, although today's announcement is theoretically applicable to the entirety of Sudan, in practice, the semi-autonomous southern part of the country (GoSS) follows the Western Saturday and Sunday weekend.
